3.       Is My Data Really Safe Once It's Collected?

Absolutely! We’ve put several layers of protection in place to keep your data secure. All information captured by our scanners is encrypted and stored locally until it's safely transferred via HTTPS to our servers, which are hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the Cape Town data center. This ensures that your personal information is shielded from unauthorised access.

Once on our servers, your data is stored in an encrypted MySQL database, and any files like images are kept securely in AWS S3. We also use advanced firewalls and a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) to protect your data both during transmission and while it’s stored.

4.       How Do You Ensure Compliance with the POPIA Act?

As a South African company, we don’t just comply with POPIA—we live by it. We collect only the information we need for specific, legitimate purposes related to access control, and we store it securely for a limited time. After that, we either delete or anonymize it, ensuring your data can’t be reconstructed or misused.

We also give you full control over your data. If you want to check, update, or delete your personal information, you can do so at any time. We’re committed to ensuring that you feel confident in how your data is being handled.

5.       How Long Do You Keep My Information, and What Happens to It After?

We keep personal information only as long as it’s necessary to fulfill its purpose. In line with POPIA regulations, your data is stored for up to two years, after which it’s securely deleted or de-identified.
